        Thickness offered:

        We offer the following thickness boards in Silk, Matt or Matt Laminated.

        350gsm – standard board. Approx 4 sheets of standard copier paper (80gsm) stacked on top of each other to gage the thickness

        400gsm – thickest board possible on a same day. Approx 5 sheets of standard copier paper (80gsm) stacked on top of each other to gage the thickness

        Description of types offered:

        If you have time, you can visit us (please book an appointment) to see the various boards offered. We have tried to describe them as best as we can below.

        Silk – standard business card board with a slight sheen. This is the most common material. This looks great with all designs and is the best material to print photos and solid colours.

        Matt – uncoated board where you can feel the grain where there is no or very little ink coverage. Note, if there is heavy ink coverage then the ink may look very shiny. Use this for more simpler designs. However, there are no problems printing photos or solid colours.

        Please be aware that this is an uncoated board and due to the grain absorbing the ink, the colours may not look as vibrant compared to printing them on to Silk board.

        Matt Laminated – The order is printed on to Silk board and then a thin film of plastic applied to both sides. There is no shine to it and offers the most luxurious feel. You cannot tell it is laminated until you touch it (it feels soft to touch). We strongly recommend Matt lamination if you have colour that touches the edge of both sides of the card (if going for double sided business cards).

        We do offer other stocks for same day business cards, not listed above including a grey board and a kraft material (subject to availability). This is great for simpler designs as the earthy feel amplifies a simple design.
